Bigger shock in Detroit during the 2012 MLB season: (A.) Miguel Cabrera wins a Triple Crown (B.) Detroit makes the World Series (C.) Justin Verlander starts dating Kate Upton (D.) The Detroit Tigers could win a World Series and have Ms. Upton in a celebration parade down Woodward Ave.?
The smart answer is all of the above. Sure, the Tigers went out and purchased Prince Fielder, but the Tigers spent only one day in first since the start of August and September 25 when they caught the White Sox.
A documentarian can’t ask for much more from this team.
Justin Verlander: 29, Virginia native, $46 million in career earnings; This is what JV looked like in his 1995 Tuckahoe Little League photo. Upton was 3.
Kate Upton: 5′ 10″ & 20-years-old; born in St. Joseph, Michigan; Sports Illustrated bikini cover model
Verlander & Upton catch Aerosmith concert on July 5 in suburban Detroit. That’s followed by Kate & her friend catching a Tigers game from Verlander’s box at Comerica Park. That night, Upton & Verlander are spotted at Coyote Joe’s where Mr. Cy Young went with the arm around the shoulder move.
Just 8 days later, Upton was spotted at a Troy, MI gym; the two create Twitter chatter by eating at local restaurants.
The relationship was on, but the Tigers were in a fight with the White Sox. Upton-JV went dark mid-September when they were spotted road tripping in Chicago. Detroit media went nuts and BC was being quoted in the Detroit Free Press. A week later the Tigers had the A.L. Central lead.
Flash-forward to October. As if the entertainment gossip sites needed more relationship fuel, Upton’s uncle, Michigan Congressman Fred Upton, made sure to tell a Michigan radio show that he had “family reasons” for rooting for JV.
And lastly, you had Justin Verlander’s grandfather, obviously proud of his grandson’s life exploits, weighing in on the relationship: “They make a good looking pair because he’s a good looking man too.”
August 20 – Upton, never spotted wearing a Tigers hat in New York City, is photographed wearing a Tigers hat in Manhattan. Verlander is 10-5 since the Aerosmith concert.
A World Series ring, parade past the Joe Louis fist in downtown Detroit and vacation in St. Lucia. Let’s assume Verlander has already told Kate to clear her schedule.

Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander is still trying to keep his dating life private on the eve of the World Series — even though his grandfather confirmed that the 29-year-old defending Cy Young Award winner is dating Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton.“I'm not confirming or denying anything," Verlander said. "I'll leave that to my grandfather. God bless him.”
A Giants team no one has been able to put away this year is meeting a pitcher no one has been able to hit in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night.
It brings up the age-old question: What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?
Most bets are on Justin Verlander, the Detroit pitcher who is throwing the best he ever has and is hungry to finally get a...

Justin Verlander's introduction to postseason baseball six years ago left him dazzled and exhausted.
Worn down toward the end of his rookie season, he made his playoff debut at Yankee Stadium. A couple weeks later, he was on the mound for Game 1 of the World Series.
''It was such a whirlwind, really, that entire season. I remember standing on the mound in old Yankee...
With the Detroit Tigers and Justin Verlander getting most of the Detroit News these days, I thought I would throw in a little fun segmant for you all.
If there is one thing that you can count on in life, it’s the complete foolishness and utter stupidity of a “Duechebag“. They are not only foolish, but also predictable. If you need to set you watch just run out and grab your...

The 2012 World Series gets underway tonight in San Francisco with Justin Verlander and Barry Zito taking the mound for the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants.
The Tigers have taken the American League by storm after being out of the playoff picture with two weeks remaining in the season. The Giants have played much of the Postseason with their backs to the wall, rallying from...
Let's set aside many of the factors we examine at the outset of each World Series -- home-field advantage, weather, layoff, no designated hitters in the National League park -- to consider the one that tends to trump them all.
Starting pitching, more specifically.
By the time the World Series opens Wednesday, the Detroit Tigers will have had nearly a week to line...
Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera became the first player in 45 years to win the Triple Crown this season, and he is likely to win the American League MVP award when that's announced next month.
But first things first: could Cabrera win a World Series MVP? He is the 5-1 favorite to do so at Bovada. Cabrera's Tigers would almost certainly have to...
While the National League will be represented by the San Francisco Giants who last appeared in the World Series in 2010, winning it all against the Texas Rangers. With that said lets take a look at the 2012 World Series between the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants:
Just a few thoughts while we wait patiently to see if Detroit will have a World Series rematch with St. Louis, or if the Tigers will take on the Giants.
Regardless of who the other half of the World Series matchup is, Detroit will begin the series Wednesday on the road. The blame for that falls on none other than Justin Verlander (although one could make a case for blaming Bud Selig...
