Shortly after Boone Logan pitched his two-thirds of an inning in last night’s Yankees – Twins game, I was alerted to Logan’s Wikipedia entry by reader “Tony.” According to the internet, “Boone” was just a nickname that Logan earned in high school, “after drinking so much Boone’s malt liquor that he needed his stomach pumped.” Screen grab and discussion after the jump.At first, I thought the fact that Logan’s real name doesn’t appear on MLB.com or ESPN.com was proof that this story was made up. Honestly, its too perfect a story to be real. However, the lack of a full name on professionally run websites isn’t something that’s unique.Take Boof Bonser for example. Boof’s real name is John Paul Bonser as noted on his Wikipedia page. However, no official site – MLB, ESPN, Yahoo! – has his real name.
