2012 will certainly be a year to remember for Fernando Rodney. He was left out in the cold of winter during last offseason, but luckily for both him and the Tampa Bay Rays, they reached out for his services (a 1 year contract for $1.75M and an option for 2013 at $2.5M). Going into the season, he was looked at as nothing more than a veteran presence in their bullpen. After an injury to incumbent closer Kyle Farnsworth, manager Joe Maddon was forced to employ someone else in the 9th inning.
