During last night's Boston Red Sox 9-2 victory over their interleague rival, the Philadelphia Phillies, center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury broke the Red Sox team record for steals in a game with five.   Ellsbury went 3-for-4 overall for the game with a walk. Today, as Pete Abraham reports in his Extra Bases Blog for Boston.com, Ellsbury will be scratched from tonight's lineup as the Sox travel to New York to face the Yankees in the Bronx. Apparently, Ellsbury strained his left groin during his last stolen base attempt and was "walking cautiously"in the clubhouse this afternoon according to Abraham.   Ellsbury is batting .268 on the season but has been batting .400 in his last 10 games. He will be replaced in the lineup by Jackie Bradley Jr., who was called up from Pawtucket earlier this week when Shane Victorino was placed on the DL.   More on this news and more will be provided as it becomes available.
