Can Chris Davis make it 5 for 5 tonight?
When Chris Davis hit a grand slam Friday evening at Camden Yards, he became one of only four major league baseball players to ever hit four home runs in their first four games of the season. He joins the likes of Willie Mays, Nelson Cruz, and Mark McGwire as the only players to accomplish that feat.
Davis is off to a ridiculously hot start to this season and has been one of the keys that have lead to Baltimore’s 3-1 start. 4 games in, Davis is batting .600 going 9-15 with 4 home runs and 16 RBIs.
If you think Crush Davis’ start to this season is just a fluke, think again. Sure he will not be able to go yard every night, but if you go back to last year, he now has hit 11 home runs in the last 11 regular season games.
Baltimore’s clean up hitter has a chance to make history tonight as he can become the only player to ever hit 5 home runs in the first 5 games of the season as the O’s host the Twins at 7:05. I don’t want to put the jinx on him, but I imagine hanging out in front of Pickles at Camden this evening is going to be even more exciting with the possibility to witness history. Hopefully the Birdland faithful gets to witness it go down this evening.

If the Tampa Bay Rays didn’t have to see Orioles first baseman Chris Davis for the rest of the year, I’m sure that would be just fine with them.
Davis started the season innocently enough, going 1-4 with a home run and three RBI. But then he went 4-4 in the second game, with...
AL BEast Notebook – April 6
Orioles games have become must-watch TV with the way first baseman Chris Davis has been hitting. Much has been said already but here are some things that stick out to me.
- Only two other players in history have hit a home run and had three runs batted in four straight games: Lou Gehrig and Bill Dickey (75 years ago). They both did it five in a row....
Chris Davis had a breakout season for the Baltimore Orioles in 2012, but perhaps no one expected this kind of start to 2013.
After homering for a fourth consecutive game, Davis looks to stay hot while helping Baltimore earn a third straight victory Saturday night as it continues this set with the visiting Minnesota Twins.
Davis hit .270 while setting career highs in home runs ...

The Baltimore Orioles were the darlings of Major League Baseball last season after moving out of the cellar to the post season for the first time in years. Four games into the '13 season they are 3-1 giving fans every reason to think last season was not a fluke (although there are 158 games left to play...).

The Orioles scored 20 runs in their 2-1 series victory over the Rays this week. Chris Davis drove in 11 himself and scored four more. His .971 wOBA — 7-for-11, three home runs, three doubles, a walk and a hit by pitch in 13 plate appearances — through the season’s first three games gives him the league lead (Tyler Flowers‘s .816 checks in at second place).

After dominating baseball's opening week with his offense, Chris Davis made a costly mistake on defense in the Baltimore Orioles' loss to the Minnesota Twins on Saturday.
Davis and Baltimore will try to bounce back to take Sunday's finale from the Twins, who must rely on spot starter Pedro Hernandez because of an injury.

Yeah, we're heading into the first weekend of the season. But Orioles first baseman Chris Davis is playing some white hot baseball right now. Yesterday, he homered in his fourth straight game to start the year, a grand slam in the eighth inning that put Baltimore ahead 9-5. Through four games, Davis has 16 RBI to go along with those four homers, and is hitting .600/.611/1.600...
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) --Chris Davis homered for the third straight day and drove in four runs Thursday to lead the Baltimore Orioles to a 6-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

In a few hours, the home opener will take place at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. This will be my tenth one in a row I’ve attended, and each one is like a holiday from life – if only for a few hours. The original forecast for today called for rain; however, driving into work on I-695, the skies started to clear and you could see a hint of blue peeking through the air.
