Another Cubs Blog:
Lee Elia has become famous in part for one of the all-time great rants to the media. A part of that rant that has become famous is about the 15% of the world that works. The name of the game is hit the ball, catch the ball, and get the ******’ job done. Right now we have more losses than we have wins The ******’ changes that have happened in the Cub organization are multifold. Alright, they don’t show because we’re 5 and 14… and unfortunately, that’s the criteria of them dumb 15 ************’ percent that come out to day baseball. The other 85 percent are earning a living. The Tribune currently has a poll up that Phil Rogers posted. The poll asks whether or not the Cubs should get rid of Carlos Zambrano. You may remember, Rogers wrote a post about this a couple days ago. It was a bunch of nonsense that only Phil Rogers could put together. Rogers thought it a good idea to see if Cubs fans agree with him, and not too surprisingly they do. 56.2% of Cubs fans want the team to get rid of Zambrano. They’ve had enough. Rogers writes a follow-up to this poll that you can read here.56.2%! I’m not even sure what to say about this. I’m really not. We have indisputable proof right here that at least 56.2% of Cubs fans are too ******* stupid to be taken seriously. But what do I do? Should I laugh at them? Should I point my finger while I’m laughing so they know I’m singling them out? How do you point your finger at 56.2% of the people? Even worse than this evidence, we also have proof that 56.2% of the Cubs fans believe and adopt the opinions of those they read in the newspapers. That’s a majority for the mathematically challenged. A majority of the people either don’t know how to think for themselves or should not be allowed to think for themselves. Let’s play a game. Name that pitcher. Player A: 95-75, 3.35 ERA (league average ERA of 3.68), 115 ERA+, 1442 IPPlayer B: 100-64, 3.49 ERA (league average ERA of (4.31), 127 ERA+, 1465 IPPlayer A also had another stint so let’s take a look.Player A Overall: 133-112, 3.61 ERA, 2016 IP, 111 ERA+Here’s a picture of Player A:Here’s a picture of Player B:Player A is remembered for his 133-112 record with an ERA+ of 111 like this:With his number retired and hanging from a foul pole:Compare that to the 56.2% of the people who want to get rid of Player B. 56.2% of Cubs fans don’t even realize that Carlos Zambrano has been better than Greg Maddux as a Cub. 56.2% don’t realize that Carlos Zambrano has become one of the best pitchers in Cubs history. 56.2% don’t understand that Zambrano has been better than a player who just had his number retired by the organization. 56.2% don’t understand that Zambrano is more deserving of a flag on the foul pole at Wrigley Field than Greg Maddux is. Be glad to be among the other 43.8%.
