Wei-Yin Chen, as expected, has been recalled off the disabled list. To correspond with that move, Zach Britton was optioned to Triple-A. It's obvious that the Orioles need starting pitching help, a the arrival of Chen should assist in that regard. Chen was probably the best starter in the rotation this season until he got injured. We all know that the team needs their starters to go deeper into games. Hopefully Chen can accomplish that tonight in his start against the Texas Rangers. He has not pitched since May 12th against Minnesota. Pitcher Kevin Gausman was too sent down, and Josh Stinson was recalled in his place. The press release from the Orioles is below. *** Orioles reinstate LHP Wei-Yin Chen from 15-day disabled list and recall RHP Josh Stinson from Triple-A Norfolk The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated LHP WEI-YIN CHEN from the 15-day disabled list and recalled RHP JOSH STINSON from Triple-A Norfolk. Chen, 27, is 3-3 with a 3.04 ERA (47.1IP, 16ER) in eight starts for the Orioles this season. He was placed on the DL on May 13 with a right oblique strain. In two rehab starts with Double-A Bowie, he went 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA (12.0IP, 4ER). Stinson, 25, had one previous stint with the Orioles this season, making a start against Toronto on April 24, allowing five earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched in a no-decision. He is 4-4 with a 4.23 ERA (89.1IP, 42ER) in 15 starts with the Tides this season. In his last three starts, Stinson has pitched to a 2.57 ERA (21.0IP, 6ER), posting a Quality Start in each outing.
