You know those Internet quizzes that ask you to name all 30 MLB teams in a couple minutes? For me, if I don’t get all of them, the one team that I miss is the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies are the Franklin Pierce of baseball teams. It pretty much all their fault too. The biggest story involving the Rockies last year was their trade of their best pitcher to the Indians. Troy Tulowitzki might be the best shortstop in the game but you rarely if ever here his name. The Rockies are also rarely in contention. At first glance, it doesn’t seem like too much money — and the Rockies are a perpetual contender in a weak division — so blocking a cheaper prospect might not be of the utmost concern. It’s a small, short deal that fills a need.
What is notable about the move,...

The Rockies continue to seek pitching help according to Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports (on Twitter), but they're unlikely to land either Joe Saunders or Hiroki Kuroda unless their asking prices come way down. Troy Renck of The Denver Post adds (on Twitter) that they did call the Athletics about Gio Gonzalez before he was traded to the Nationals, but they were unwilling to surrender...
