The Yankees got a nice bounce back win against the Twins tonight as CC Sabathia put some early game struggles behind him and pitched very well while the offense put together an 8 run performance as they beat the Twins 8-3. Here is our recap. This is what the Yankees blogosphere is talking about tonight.

  • The Yankee Analysts takes a look at how some of the Yankees top prospects have started. The guys down in Charleston are killing it.
  • NoMaas.org thanks Tom Verducci for being one of the few MSM reporters who openly questions when managers play for a save while wasting some of their best relievers in the bullpen. One of my biggest pet peeves.
  • River Ave Blues considers Robinson Cano‘s slow start. I’ve also noticed that he has struggled against lefties (.399 OPS vs LHP so far).

Rumor: Yankees not planning extension talks with Martin

As is their usual style, the Yankees don’t plan on discussing an extension with Russell Martin, who will be a free agent after this year, during the season, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. This is not much of a surprise, but the latest trend in baseball is to lock up players before they hit the market so it’s not crazy to check in on this. As long as there are other...

A look at Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez

Of all the high-priced talent and personalities who may or may not live up to their reputations on the 2012 Yankees, one player in particular seems to incessantly enrage the fan base.  Any moment he takes the field, the fans see him as an accident waiting to happen.  Debuting with the Yanks in 2010, Eduardo Nunez has been somewhat of an enigma. Touted in the minors as a defensive...

Fans Running Onto The Field: Scary Possibilities

Last night at Yankee Stadium someone ran out onto the field during the Twins-Yankees game. Just as other TV networks do, the YES Network cameras did not show the jerk in action. A few seconds into the distraction they zoomed in on CC Sabathia, standing on the mound, watching security trying to catch...

Hughes focusing on making fastball a priority again

After struggling for a year and a half in the rotation, Phil Hughes earned himself some praise this spring for the way he pitched, but most fans, myself included, have all but written him off by this point and are counting down the days until Andy Pettitte and Michael Pineda will come back to knock him out of the rotation. Pettitte and Pineda aren’t back yet though so for now...

Kuroda wants to put last week’s gem behind him

It’s not the typical thing you hear after a good start, but Hiroki Kuroda told reporters on Tuesday that he needs to put his last start behind him. “I have to turn the page on what happened,” Kuroda told Marc Carig of the Newark Star-Ledger. “I’m glad that it happened that way, but I have to turn the page and prepare for my next start.” Kuroda essentially meant that...
