Found March 13, 2007 on A Large Regular:
The Rockies somewhat shockingly released Javy Lopez yesterday. Since he wasn't having all that bad of a spring, he'll likely catch on with another team if he's willing to accept a backup role. There are rumors though that he'll retire if he can't win a starting gig somewhere, which he most likely won't. No one expects a catcher in his mid 30's to continue producing at All-Star levels, but The Large Regular takes a look at Javy's meteroric rise and subsequent fall...just as steroids in baseball became a more public issue.
