The Red Sox beat the Tigers in Detroit in spite of the fact knuckleballer Tim Wakefield allowed a franchise-record six home runs in the game. The right-hander surrendered two home runs to Ivan Rodriguez… the other round-trippers were hit by Craig Monroe, Eric Munson, Carlos Pena and Dmitri Young.
Munson also touched relief pitcher Mike Timlin for another home run.
