Found April 26, 2012 on Hall of Very Good:
<img border="0" i$="true" src="" />A week after it was revealed that Brian Wilson got a Johnny Cash tattoo this past off season, the San Francisco Giants clsoer underwent season ending surgery on his bum right wing.

In true Wilson fashion, he hit Twitter and posted the following.

Surgery was perfect. Borrowed ligament from my ol' pal Sasquatch. Only side effects: hairy arm and I talk like a wookie

In honor of The Beard's new tattoo, and the fact that he now has plenty of time to get more tattoos this year, let’s play a game of “match-the-ballplayer-to-the-tattoo”.

Eric Hinske, Atlanta Braves

Jason Giambi, Colorado Rockies

Scott Spiezio, Retired

Bruce Bochy Wastes Another Strong Barry Zito Outing

There’s no getting around the fact that Bruce Bochy has done a terrible job managing these past several games, especially when it’s come to handling his pitchers. Consider… 4/21: With the game tied at one, Ryan Vogelsong at 95 pitches, and a runner in scoring position, Bochy left Vogelsong in the game. Vogelsong struck out, and then allowed a couple runs in the seventh inning...

Giants Place Aubrey Huff on 15-Day DL, Call Up Joaquin Arias

According to Hank Schulman, Aubrey Huff has been placed on the 15-day DL with anxiety disorder, for which he is currently getting treatment. He’s already missed the past few games, and it’s looking like this will open the door for both Nate Schierholtz and Brandon Belt to be in the starting lineup on a regular basis. As for Huff, this kind of problem is no fun, and one can only...

San Francisco Giants Giving Away Pablo Sandoval Chia Pets at Upcoming Game (Video)

Forget bobbleheads. The San Francisco Giants are stepping up with giveaway game with Pablo Sandoval Chia Pets that they will be giving young fans at an upcoming game on May 16. How cool is that? Answer: pretty cool. The team has apparently partnered with the makers of Chia Pets to create a bust of their third baseman's head that grows grass instead of hair. To promote the game...

Giants' Huff releases statement about DL stint

San Francisco Giants first baseman-outfielder Aubrey Huff released a statement on Friday addressing his stint on the disabled list for anxiety. Huff was placed on the 15-day DL on Wednesday to deal with an anxiety attack he had earlier in the week. "Thank you to the fans, media and Giants organization for the outpouring of support during this very difficult week," Huff...

Giants put Huff on DL with anxiety issues

The San Francisco Giants put Aubrey Huff on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday while he received treatment for an anxiety attack. Huff left the team in New York over the weekend after struggling at the plate and in the field. The Giants originally said he had a family emergency. Manager Bruce Bochy said on Wednesday that Huff is getting treatment for anxiety. He is expected to...

Giants 2B Sanchez taken off rehab assignment

Giants second baseman Freddy Sanchez made repairs on his uniform pants as he discussed his latest setback since recovering from shoulder surgery last August. Sanchez said Friday he felt a strain in his shoulder during pre-game warmups earlier this week with the Giants' Class-A affiliate in San Jose. He was scheduled to play second base Thursday but was moved to designated hitter...

The Best Batting Stance You’ll See Today

Don’t laugh.  The San Francisco Giants have drafted five players from Coastal Carolina University since 2005, and eight in their history.  Yes, that’s a lot when you’re talking about a relatively small school. One of them was Kirt Manwaring.  (2nd round, 31st overall.  Also, the highest-drafted player ever from CCU).  The others…well, I’m not so certain you’ll...

San Francisco Giants to give away Pablo Sandoval Chia Pets

John McInroe would definitely give this a “you cannot be serious!”  But the San Francisco Giants are as serious as a heart attack.  Pablo Sandoval Chia Pets.  May 16th.  If this doesn’t sell out AT&T Park, nothing ever will. This has to be the greatest and weirdest and sickest and coolest stadium giveaway ever.  A Kung Fu Panda Chia Pet?!  YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!

Giants' Huff lands on DL due to anxiety attacks

Without Aubrey Huff, the San Francisco Giants are trying to focus on baseball and move forward, and manager Bruce Bochy likely will play Brandon Belt and Brett Pill more at first base. Huff was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Wednesday's 4-2 loss in Cincinnati because he's dealing with anxiety attacks, Bochy said. The 35-year-old veteran didn't show up to...

On some day late in Spring or early in the regular season (sooooo lazy), Julian (@GiantsNirvana) tweeted something that looked like this: “On a scale of 1-10, the amount I’m worried about Angel Pagan: 0” Julian’s faith restored my own, reminding me that Angel Pagan has started slowly before and would be just fine as the Giants’ starting center fielder. Fine, indeed. Pagan’s...

Life Outplays Baseball for Aubrey Huff

No one can know what professional athletes go through to achieve the highest level in any sport. It obviously includes the history of their formative lives, having extraordinary talent and brining complete commitment. Squared. And sometimes, even all that is not enough. On Monday April 23, Aubrey Huff of the San Francisco Giants mysteriously left the team for what was termed a “family...

A Headspoon For The Road

There are things to love about uniform changes, and things to hate.  The ‘Headspoon’ on the Giants’ main road jersey is something I hate. Honestly, they aren’t the worst thing in the world on their own.  They can look pretty good in the right circumstances.  But on this uniform, it’s terrible because of how it breaks up the words ‘San Francisco’ on the front.  The...

Giants Win, Never Have to Go Back to Cincinnati Again (Hopefully)

Well this was a game that had a little bit of everything.  The Giants went down 2-0 early only to come back and score two runs of their own.  Then they went down 4-2 and scratched and clawed to get back within one run.  Then Scott Rolen,  he of the sub-Mendoza Line batting average in late April homered for the second time in the series and things felt like they’d been Cincinnati’d...

Quality Starts and Quality Starts Plus (QS+) with No Decisions/Losses 4/16 – 4/22

Another week has passed in the MLB and one of the most amazing Quality Start No Decision performances ever from a pitcher... errr... PITCHERS took place, which can only help to bolster my case that fantasy baseball websites should find a way to reward a pitcher quality start that results in a loss or no decision. Last Wednesday, against the San Francisco Giants, Cliff Lee tossed...
