I have not weighed in so far on the whole Theo Epstein to the Cubs situation.  The reason for this is that the deal is not done yet despite being reported as “done” by Steve Buckley (among others) over a week ago.  Additionally there is just no concrete sense as to what the compensation package will be so I really haven’t wanted to waste my time (or yours) on a bunch of red herrings.However, with the denouement apparently nigh I wanted to throw a few stray thoughts out there;1. MLB should look closely at the precedent involved hereBecause of the “Evil Empire II” as the Sox are perceived being involved there is not a lot of outcry.  I would be curious how this would be perceived if the Sox were trying a similar approach to land Rays’ GM Andrew Friedman.The truth of the matter is that a General Manager under contract to a team has apparently been wooed by a new team.  This is true both of the Cubs with Theo and either the Cubs or Theo personally with Jed Hoyer.MLB has strict tampering...
