Found December 06, 2012 on Reds Minor Leagues:
Tonight I finished all of the writing for the 2013 Prospect Guide. I will be ready for the printer on Monday. If you plan on purchasing a soft cover version of the book rather than the PDF version, please pre-order if before the weekend is over. Soft cover version orders have been few and far between thus far and the pre-orders are what I have used in the past to determine the amount to order (and use the pre-order money to help pay for printing costs). The Rule 5 draft is at 10am today. If the Reds lose or gain any players, I will update this post with information. The offseason awards continue to pile up for the Reds. On Tuesday they were named the Baseball America Organization of the Year. Redsfest begins tomorrow. I can’t stress to you enough how awesome Redsfest is. If you can make it down for the event, you really should. Here is a list of the minor leaguers who will be in attendance: Tucker Barnhart Tony Cingrani Daniel Corcino Billy Hamilton Ryan LaMarre Kyle Lotzkar El’Haj...

Rule 5 Draft Outlook

The Rule 5 draft is tomorrow. Today I wanted to look at a few Reds guys who have a chance of being selected and a who the Reds may select. The Reds Let’s start with the arms. Justin Freeman throws in the low 90’s with a good slider. He is coming off of a season in AA Pensacola where he posted a 2.91 ERA with 16 walks and 68 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched. Freeman isn’t a...

Ludwick and Reds still talking as Winter Meetings end

Well, Walt Jocketty showed up to baseball's 2012 Winter Meetings, so there's that. Nothing of note really happened at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, concerning the Cincinnati Reds though. Don't be discouraged however. Last year after the winter meetings, Jocketty was able to acquire Mat Latos, Sean Marshall, and Ryan Ludwick who were all key pieces in 2011. Here's a...

Reds named Organization of the Year

The Reds players pause for a moment around the cup during their division-clinching celebration.Well, I didn’t even know that Baseball American gave out an Organization of the Year Award. In fact, for a moment, I wondered if it was another first-time-ever-given awards, like that Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award. But I looked it up, and it’s been given since 1982. It...

Former Reds outfielder Deion Sanders made an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday morning. The pair began the interview by discussing several on-the-field football topics, but the conversation eventually turned to the tragic situation involving Jevon Belcher. That's when Sanders admitted that he understood what Belcher was going through and that he was also once suicidal...

Todd Frazier has quickly become a fan favorite around Cincinnati. His heart and hustle inspires, his versatility impresses, and his friendly personality wins people over. Fowler vs. Stubbs: Marginal Improvement or More?

The Reds have been looking for a consistent leadoff hitter since the current iteration of the team began contention in 2010. Drew Stubbs was supposed to fill that role, but his performance has trended the wrong way since 2009 — after a sharp 105 wRC+ in 2010, Stubbs has posted marks of 90 and a brutal 64 in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Between Stubbs and Zack Cozart, Reds leadoff...

He made his debut on June 19th with 5 shutout innings with a walk and eight strkeouts. He finished up the month of June with a total of three...

Click buttons just like real baseball owners do

It’s been a quiet off-season for the Reds, so when I noticed the link to MLB’s new Facebook game, I actually gave it a try. MLB Ballpark Empire puts you into the highly realistic situation of playing baseball in an open lot with your brother, only to have a rich developer walk up and offer you the opportunity to operate a major league team. You install seats, renew player contracts...
