This is why you love having Torii Hunter on your team. That's the Detroit Tigers outfielder most famous this morning for tumbling over the short right-field fence at Fenway Park on Sunday night in a futile effort to catch David Ortiz's screaming grand slam ball that landed in the Boston bullpen. The attempt ended up making him the subject of photos like the one above. Everyone affiliated with the Tigers is crestfallen after the stunning Game 2 loss, but Hunter -- long heralded as an all-out player and a positive clubhouse presence -- had some stirring quotes in the aftermath. On describing the play, according to several outlets: "I was trying my best to just stop that ball from going over the fence. I'd sacrifice my body if I have to. I've done that my whole career. This is postseason. I'd die on the field for this." On how the team's feeling right now: "It's obvious, you know. I'm pissed off. I mean, the one guy you don't want to beat you (Ortiz), he beat us. One of the best hitters in postseason history, and this guy hit the ball out of the park and ties the game up, and they end up coming back and winning the game. I'm pissed. "We're all pissed. Everybody on this team is pissed off that that happened." You can't say he doesn't care. In case you missed it, here's the bonkers sequence: Your browser does not support iframes. Wow. Game 3 is Tuesday night in Detroit (4:07 p.m. ET, FOX).
