Miguel Cabrera – Genius at Work(Photo courtesy of ESPN) Miguel Cabrera is an absolute stud when it comes to hitting a baseball. From day one of his MLB career, “Miggy” has shown his brute strength and power. Cabrera makes smooth transistion to third base

DETROIT -- Remember before the season when one of the main concerns about the Detroit Tigers was whether Miguel Cabrera would be able to play third base? Scott Merkin, the Chicago White...

Cabrera hits 300th career home run as Tigers sweep the Chi Sox out of town

After hitting his 299th in the bottom of the first off White Sox starter Phil Humber, Cabrera followed with a bomb that cleared the center field wall to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead. ...

Cabrera hits HR Nos. 299 & 300

Miguel Cabrera's 300th homer cleared the wall in center field with room to spare and sailed toward the ivy at Comerica Park. That's not the easiest place to retrieve a baseball, but this one should make a nice keepsake. ''Somebody got it. They got it somehow,'' Detroit manager Jim Leyland said. ''They got in there and got it, and that's his 300th...

Tigers teammates laud Cabrera as a hitting savant

There was a time when scouts, baseball insiders, writers, broadcasters and run-of-the-mill cynics were snorting and wondering exactly which day in April the Detroit Tigers would abandon their shift of Miguel Cabrera from first base to third. Guess that move didn't turn out too badly, did it? Cabrera hit the 299th and 300th home runs of his career Sunday, and it prompted a...

Rabbit Punches: Open Championship, Penn St. Miguel Cabrera, Cooperstown

A Rabbit Punch has two meanings, both of which describe the nature of the article. 1. A series of fast punches. 2. Ernie Els shot a final round 68 to be the man who did not lose the Open Championship the most. Adam Scott inked his name in the...
