Detroit -- Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera both slugged home runs off Cleveland starter Corey Kluber as the Tigers beat the Indians 10-4.
After Cleveland held a 1-0 first-inning lead, the Tigers plated three runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back. With runners on second and third with one out, Alex Avila doubled to deep right, giving Detroit a 2-1 lead. After another double and a line out, Torii Hunter singled to score one more.
The Tigers refused to let their foot off the gas, scoring five more runs in the next three innings to take an 8-2 lead. Fielder and Cabrera hit homers in the third and fourth innings, respectively. After retiring the first two hitters in the fifth, Kluber allowed a ground-rule double to former Indian Jhonny Peralta followed by a RBI-single to Avila.
Following the single, Kluber (2-2, 5.64) was finished for the night, having allowed eight earned runs and 11 hits in just four and two-thirds innings of work.
