The Detroit Tigers have added a veteran bat for the stretch run without having to trade for it.The Tigers recalled third baseman Brandon Inge from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday, hoping the two-time 25-home run hitter has rediscovered his stroke following a minor-league stint.Inge was designated for assignment last month after hitting a pitiful .177 with one home run in 215 at-bats for the major-league club. After passing through waivers, Inge was assigned to Toledo where he hit .287 with seven homers and 19 RBIs in 29 games.Inge is expected to see time against left-handed starters for Detroit, which enters Saturday's play 2 1/2 games ahead of Cleveland atop the AL Central.Inge, 34, is a career .234 hitter in 11 seasons, all with the Tigers.
