Prior to the Winter Meetings, the Seattle Mariners had interest in trading for Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch according to Danny Knobler of CBS Sports. And with those meetings over it still looks as though the Mariners have maintained their interest in Boesch if a report from FOXSports.com’s Jon Morosi is correct.
The Tigers and Mariners have had preliminary discussions about a trade that would send outfielder Brennan Boesch to Seattle, according to major-league sources.
Despite the discussion Morosi also states that both sides aren’t close to striking a deal but that it remains an option, especially if top outfield target Josh Hamilton gets away. Nonetheless Morosi suggest that coming back the Tigers way could be left handed relief help something that has been on Detroit’s shopping list this season.
In 132 games for the Tigers in 2012, Boesch had a batting line of 240/.286/.372 and was left off the postseason roster after being outplayed by rookie Avisail Garcia down the stretch....
