The Cardinals’ affiliates went 3-1 on Tuesday as Memphis, Palm Beach and the DSL Cards were winners while Springfield was the only loser. Tim Cooney was stellar again for Memphis and Joe Cuda has won his last three starts

Memphis got out to a quick 2-0 lead in the second thanks to a RBI from Audry Perez and a RBI triple by newly promoted Mike O’Neil. They extended their lead by two on two RBI doubles by Pete Kozma and Stephen Piscotty. That would be enough for the Redbirds as Tim Cooney tossed another great outing. Cooney gave up two runs, only one earned, and struck out two in six and two-thirds innings en route to his sixth win. Jermaine Curtis was one for three with two RBI and a run scored.

Marco Gonzales had a great night on the mound, in which he gave up only one run off four hits and struck out seven in six inning of work. Chris Swauger had the only RBI, going two for three with a double and a RBI. Joe Donofrio gave up a solo homer off the third pitch he threw to lose the game in the bottom of the ninth.

Charlie Tilson and Breyvic Valera each produced RBI to leadoff the scoring in Palm Beach’s 6-3 victory over Lakeland. David Washington provided the tying run in the top of the sixth with a sac fly, which scored Alex Mejia. Valera would produce another two RBI before the end of this one finishing the game going three for five with three RBI. Joe Cuda won his third-straight game after allowing only three runs off four hits over six innings pitched.
