Braves pitcher Tim Hudson was working up a serious sweat on the mound during Tuesday night’s game against the San Diego Padres. In the bottom of the 2nd inning all that perspiration got to be too much for the 37-year-old, so he dried his sweaty shaved dome with the best available option he had at the time…the rosin bag. Hudson’s impromptu drying session with the rosin bag has to be a first in Major League Baseball history, which is somewhat surprising given the fact that rosin is used by pitchers mainly as a way of keeping their throwing hands dry, and there seems to be fair number of hurlers over the years who were either naturally bald, or shaved their head for that smooth, easy-to-manage Michael Jordan look. Here’s video of Hudson and his unconventional, albeit clever, use of the rosin bag  (via MLB.com)… Who know, maybe Hudson’s newfound use of the rosin bag will catch on. Sure it’s unhygienic and somewhat gross, especially for the other pitchers who have to use the same rosin ...

Kris Medlen does not want to go to the bullpen

Kris Medlen does not want to head to the bullpen when Brandon Beachy comes off the disabled list. Medlen is the only member of the Braves rotation who has experience in the bullpen. Many figured that the Braves would place Beachy in the rotation spot of Julio Teheran. That is far from certain with Teheran pitching better of late. “I’ll let it be known that I don’t want to go...

Chipper Jones lists Atlanta home for 3.19 million

In retirement, Chipper Jones has been required to move on. In the case of his impressive mansion in Roswell, Ga., the Braves legend is taking the idiom literally. Besides the fact that it is the former home of a potential Hall of Fame baseball player, the house comprises eight...

Chipper Jones lists Atlanta mansion

Retired Braves third baseman Chipper Jones earned a cool $168,000,000 in his 19-year playing career. With his days of peppering the gaps in Turner Field over, Jones no longer needs his 23,504 square-foot Roswell, Georgia mansion (as if he ever needed it). The home of a guy named Larry who collected 2,627 career hits sports seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, three half bathrooms...

The Braves got on the board first...

Braves spear Clippers 9-2

Pitching in his first game since sustaining a left oblique injury in a game back on April 28, right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka tossed a scoreless 2 2/3 innings against the Gwinnett Braves Tuesday. After throwing 41 pitches (he was limited to 50), Matsuzaka exited the game and everything went downhill from there. Reliever Paolo Espino, Cole Cook and Bryan Price combined to surrender...
