A dream has finally come true for Boston Red Sox veteran pitcher Tim Wakefield. After posting arguments about why Wakefield should and shouldn't be selected as an All-Star, the managers have spoken and selected him for the American League roster in St. Louis.

Managers' voteTim Wakefield SPKevin Youkilis 1B (Mark Teixeira will start at first base)
This is Wakefield's first All-Star game in his 17-year career (15 with the Red Sox). He received a tremendous standing ovation at Fenway this afternoon when his name was called along with his five other teammates.
