How many times have we heard what a great matchup it would be in game 5 between Chris Carpenter and Roy Halladay?

John Gonzalez of CSN Philly brought up a great point-Tony La Russa was talking about a game 5 way back in Philly.

I blame Tony La Russa for all this madness. He’s easy to loathe, and I think he willed a Game 5 by employing what must be a proprietary brand of sinister managerial voodoo magic. Back in Philly, before the teams decamped for St. Louis, TLR kept talking about how much he wanted to see Roy Halladay battle Chris Carpenter in a decisive Game 5.

Phillies fans did not wish for this. We wanted this series wrapped up yesterday, and we thought we were going to get that after the Phils jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

Roy Halladay will pitch in game 5 in front of a home crowd that is sure to be rowdy after Jimmy Rollins' comments after game 2. The Phillies have their ace, and Brad Lidge is confident he will get the job done.

According to John Clark of NBC 10, Lidge said, "To beat Doc Halladay at home, I don't know if all the momentum in the world can help you out there."

That is priceless. And yes, Twitter can be a bad thing, but when players show positive emotion on Twitter, it gets the fans pumped up. Here is what Victorino and Rollins had to say after the game last night.

Friday please come quick.
