Right-hander Mark Lowe and the Texas Rangers have agreed to a $1.7 million, one-year contract, a raise of $500,000.
The Rangers on Tuesday also said they had agreed to a one-year deal with outfielder David Murphy worth $3.625 million, a substantial raise from the $2.4 million he made last year.

The Texas Rangers have agreed to one-year deals with right-handers Mark Lowe and Mike Adams, avoiding arbitration.
Adams, a reliever, agreed to a $4.4 million deal after making $2,535,000 last year. Lowe agreed to a $1.7 million, one-year contract, a raise of $500,000.
