Detroit Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter can sleep a little easier tonight, after a grand jury has declined to indict his son on charges of sexual-assault.
According to authorities, 18-year-old Darius McClinton-Hunter along with three other young men, were involved in an incident were they forced several girls to engage in sexual relations. All four men were arrested for sexual-assault in May outside of Dallas, TX in Prosper.
“He finally feels vindicated,” Shapiro, McClinton-Hunter’s attorney said in an interview. “He knew from the very day he was arrested that he didn’t commit any crime.”
Although McClinton- Hunter was vindicated, one of the co-defendants Garrick White was unfortunate today. The grand jury decided to indict him for unlawful restraint of a child. Coleman Sylvan, White’s attorney, questions the decision to indict his client when he feels all four men displayed the same actions.
“He doesn’t understand why he’s been singled out in this way,” Sylvan said of his client. “His actions were the exact same as everyone involved, but for some reason, he’s being singled out, and we don’t know why.”
McClintion-Hunter is thrilled to be able to walk away from the allegations casted upon him. However his attorney Todd Shapiro, points out the allegation have hinder his clients chances to play at elite colleges, but he’s happy to finally have the matter put behind him.
“That’s all dried up, and it’s a real shame that happened,” he said. “False accusations caused him to miss out on a lot of opportunities. This has weighed very heavily on him,”

Detroit Tigers slugger (and 2012 American League MVP) Miguel Cabrera stars in the latest MLB Fan Cave video to get you ready for a new season of major league baseball.
The video, which also stars Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones, borrows the tune of the Rihanna hit "Diamonds" while using baseball-themed lyrics and some autotuning to welcome the major leaguers...
On Monday I published a list of 13 Detroit Tigers prospects who I think could crack the big league roster this year under a variety of circumstances. Today, it is time to take a look at some of the young studs who are still a few years away from impacting the major league club.
Remember, the Tigers’ farm system was recently ranked 25th out of 30 by ESPN’s Keith...
Whether it’s the Matthew Stafford Monday Night Football or Justin Verlander MLB 2k12 commercials, I usually find these spots featuring Detroit athletes pretty entertaining with some level of comedic value. However this parody video of “Diamonds” by Rihanna featuring Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera is just downright weird…
I am interested though in seeing a Phil Coke impersonation...
LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Detroit Tigers have six pitchers fighting for five spots in the starting rotation.
Rick Porcello got his second chance to audition for Tigers manager Jim Leyland on Wednesday in a 5-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves and gave up three runs in three innings, his longest outing of the spring.
Porcello, however, didn't make the impression he wanted to make.
Rick Porcello turned in a very sharp spring debut last week. Outing No. 2? Not nearly as successful.
Porcello gave up three runs in his two innings of work, all of them crossing the plate off a home run by Atlanta’s Juan Francisco in the top of the first. Jordan Schafer led off the game with a single, then Porcello hit Reed Johnson. Three batters later, with two outs and two on...
The Seattle Mariners resigned their ace, and one of the best pitchers of this era Felix Hernandez, to a 175 million dollar (of fie year extension that will pay King Felix nearly 40 million over the next two seasons) contract this off season. That pushes the magic number for an extension between Justin Verlander, arguably [...]
Tigers Tripler Crownee Miguel Cabrera and Orioles center fielder Adam Jones combined to drum up this beauty of a video parodying Rihanna’s jam “Diamonds.” The revamped lyrics couldn’t be worse, but the acting is dead nuts.
If this doesn’t get you in the mood for a little romance baseball, nothing will.

Evan Longoria had two hits in his second spring game in the Tampa Bay Rays' 11-2 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Thursday.
Longoria improved to 4 for 5 at the plate this spring after getting off to a late start following offseason back surgery.
Austin Jackson hit a two-run homer, Nick Castellanos had three hits with an RBI and Anibal Sanchez pitched three scoreless innings in...
As we near the start of the Major League Baseball season, the fine folks over at the MLB Fan Cave decided to produce a parody music video starring Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones and Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera.
They used the template of Rihanna's hit song "Diamonds" and called their track "The Diamond" to pump up baseball fans....
