This was posted on the Blue Jays Facebook page on Friday.

The Toronto Blue Jays and the Houston Astros were involved in a 10 player trade on Friday.

The Jays acquired J.A. Happ, Brandon Lyons, David Carpenter in exchange for Francisco Cordero, Ben Francisco, along with four Minor League Prospects and a player to be named later.

The injury woes continue for the Jays as reliever, Jason Frasor was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday afternoon with tightness in his right forearm.

The Jays won the first of three games against Boston on Friday night.

The Jays went up 1-0 at the top of the first inning when Edwin Encarnacion drove in Colby Rasmus on a fielder’s choice.

Up 2-0 in the second inning, Rasmus drove in Yunel Escobar and Anthony Gose with a double.

There was no scoring until the fifth inning when Adam Lind increased the Blue Jays lead, driving in Encarnacion with a single.

Yan Gomes made it 6-0 Jays  at the top of the ninth inning by driving in Travis Snider with a double.

The Red Sox managed to score one run in the bottom of the inning, but it would be the only run they would get as the Jays went away with the 6-1 victory.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a three run homer in the second inning of Saturday night’s game, giving the Red Sox an early 3-0 lead.

At the top of the third inning, Brett Lawrie drove in Kelly Johnson to make it 3-1.

There was no scoring until the top of the sixth inning when Edwin Encarnacion tied it up with a two run homer.

At the top of the seventh inning, the Jays went ahead by one run when J.P. Arencibia hit a solo home run.  Brett Lawrie made it 6-3 by driving in Yunel Escobar and Rajai Davis with a double.

The Blue Jays added another run in the ninth inning.

In the bottom of the inning, the Red Sox went down one, two, three.

Starting pitcher, Carlos Villanueva gave up only four hits, three earned runs, two walks and struck out five batters in 6.1 innings pitched.   This guy (Villanueva) has really impressed me.  He became a starter to fill the void of the injured Blue Jay’s pitching staff and won all five games he pitched in.

The Blue Jays completed the sweep on Sunday by winning 15-7.  Their 15 runs was a season high.

Starting pitcher, Henderson Alvarez gave up eight hits, seven earned runs, one walk and struck out two batters in 5.2 innings pitched.

The Jays have a day off on Monday, but will be back at it on Tuesday as they will host the Oakland Athletics for three games.
