After splitting a four game series with Tampa Bay, I thought the Toronto Blue Jays were back on the winning track.  Boy! was I wrong.

The Blue Jays kicked off their three game series against the Baltimore Orioles on a losing note as they were shut out 4-0.

Thankfully, I had a cup of coffee beside me while watching this game.  It helped me from falling to sleep.  The majority of the game was so boring.  The Blue Jays couldn’t generate any offense until the sixth inning.

In the seventh inning, the Jays had bases loaded with one out, but was unable to score a run.

Starting pitcher, J.A. Happ had a fairly good outing, giving up six hits, three earned runs, two walks, and struck out nine batters in five innings pitched.

The second game of the series was even worse.  It was bad enough somebody decided open the roof at the Rogers Center on a rainy night in Toronto, but also the Jays got hammered 12-0.   In the first two games of this series, the Jays were outscored 16-0.  Terrible.  Absolutely terrible.

I did see a couple  bright spots in the second game.  I noticed that rookies Moises Sierra and Adeiny Hechavarria have potential to be good ball players in the future.  Hechavarria especially.  He has shown that he has the ability to turn a double play, plus he can hit as well.

Sierra has also shown recently that he can really swing the bat.

Keep a close eye on these two players folks,  I feel they could be future stars in the Major Leagues, either with Toronto or with some other team.

The Jays avoided the sweep tonight by winning 6-4.

The Jays broke the game wide open in the seventh inning by scoring four runs and took a 6-2 lead.

Hechavarria showed his great defensive skills by turning another awesome double play in the eighth inning.

My heart sank a little when Mark Reynolds made it interesting by hitting a two run homer at the top of the ninth inning.

Starting pitcher, Brandon Morrow had a very good night on the mound, giving up only three hits, two earned runs, three walks, and struck out six batters in six innings pitched.

The Jays have the day off tomorrow (a much needed day off if you ask me).  Their next opponent will be the Boston Red Sox, who have also struggled this season.  The three game series starts on Friday night.
