According to Canadian baseball columnist Bob Elliott the Toronto Blue Jays are knocking on the Los Angeles Angels door sniffing around on the availability of both Chris Ianetta and Hank Conger.
“The Jays also are attempting to acquire a catcher from the Los Angeles Angels. Toronto has targeted either Chris Iannetta or Hank Conger, according to those familiar with the Jays’ plans.”
The Blue Jays seem set on upgrading on their current tandem of J.P. Arencibia and Josh Thole behind the dish. Arencibia had a well documented set-back season and now have the Jays baseball brain trust wondering if he is an every day MLB catcher.
Iannetta is a 30-year old, 8 year MLB veteran spending time with the Colorado Rockies prior to joining the Angels in 2012.
