Toronto FC acquired Kyle Davies from the Los Angeles Galaxy on Thursday for fellow defender Dasan Robinson.
The move came just before Major League Soccer's roster freeze, which runs through the rest of the regular season and the MLS Cup playoffs.
The 22-year-old Davies joined the Galaxy in May but didn't make an appearance with the club.
The Danville, Calif., native signed a contract with the MLS, joining Real Salt Lake in 2009. He was later traded to FC Dallas in April of that year but was waived by the club before joining the Galaxy.
Toronto acquired Robinson from the Chicago Fire on July 28 but he made just one appearance for the club.
