FanHouse:
by Jeff FletcherFiled under: Angels, MLB Playoffs, American League Division SeriesIt's a cliche, really, the whole overcoming-adversity thing. Teams that end up drenched in champagne almost always lean back on the same old lines about surviving hard times. They've got nothing on the Angels. "To win a division after all that we've been through is gratifying," Angels outfielder Torii Hunter told FanHouse. "I've been 17 years in pro baseball and I've never been through anything like I went through in the first part of this season." The adversity the Angels faced came to a head in the early morning hours of April 9, when news came that 22-year-old pitcher Nick Adenhart had been killed in a car accident just hours after he'd pitched the Angels to a victory.
