I need to put Baseball Reference on speed dial. Where would I be without it? I wish I could put it atop my XMAS tree in lieu of an angel or a star or some hideous raffia abomination. Justin Abomination Masterson is a tall, hairless righty who pitched in four games for the Pawtucket Red Sox in Junish 2008. That was a great year! Masterson started one game, was used in relief for the other three. Yes, that is all. It was part of his starterhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif to reliever conversion, which I guess only takes one month at the triple-A level. Nowadays you can just pick up a SP/RP adapter for three bucks at the hardware store. Through 9 1/3 innings, Masterson logged eight K's. Not bad! He hit one batter. Probably Kevin Barker. He gave up one walk and one home run. I guess they cancel each other out, because a walk is as good as a home run. RIGHT?Two things:1. To put things in perspective, here are some cats who pitched in more games than JM in 2008: Mike Timlin. Beau V...

Who's On First? 2012 Projections
There have been a few rumors about the Indians running around during the Winter Meetings. The majority of these have involved an improvement to the offense, specifically first base. The Indians, according to indians.com, have already proclaimed themselves out of the running for Albert Pujols, Prince Fielder and Carlos Pena (who would want him?) so they are currently looking for Matt...

Cleveland Indians keeping a close winter watch on Ubaldo Jimenez
If the Indians had as good a read on Ubaldo Jimenez as they do Carlos Santana, they'd probably feel a lot better about the coming season.
Carlos Santana should stay behind the plate - Indians Comment of the Day
"A catcher with offensive numbers well above the norms is an asset, assuming he at least provides average defense. Santana has been a ML catcher for all of one season + two months. Give him a chance. he could still become a good backstop." - wahoorc

MLB Rumors: Quick-Hitting the Indians’ Winter Meetings
This is a rough time of year for the employed baseball fan.
First, there are no matinee games to get us down to the ballpark and out of the office on Wednesday afternoons. Which, I think we can all agree, sucks eggs.
But second, the Winter Meetings seem to be taking place DURING NORMAL WORKING HOURS, which means I can’t follow my twitter feed quite as closely as I’d prefer...
