One is the Loneliest Number:
Jumping on the Diamondbacks rotation, and Trevor Cahill in particular, to blame for the team’s recent struggles is the popular thing to do right now. And truth be told, it’s perfectly acceptable. There’s a reason a starter hasn’t won in over three weeks. There’s a reason the bullpen is, more often than not, run into the ground by overuse. I’m here to tell you Cahill’s struggles are not permanent.

One day after the worst statistical month of his career came to an end, Diamondbacks starting pitcher Trevor Cahill was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right hip contusion.
The injury is the same one that knocked him out of a June 19 game against the Marlins after one inning. Cahill took a line drive off his hip at the end of the first inning and warmed up for the second...
June was an awful month for Arizona Diamondbacks starter Trevor Cahill, and July doesn't look any better. Cahill was placed on the 15-day DL with a hip contusion, with the news tweeted by the Diamondbacks' official feed on Monday afternoon.
OFFICIAL: @Dbacks select RHP Chaz Roe from Triple-A Reno, place RHP Trevor Cahill on 15-day disabled list w/ right hip contusion...
It has been a struggle to close out games for the Diamondbacks bullpen this season. In fact, Arizona’s ‘pen already has 16 blown saves, which is tied with the Dodgers, Cubs and Orioles for most in all of baseball.
Two of the Arizona Diamondbacks top prospects were given an honor by the organization on Tuesday. Triple-A infielder Chris Owings and Double-A pitcher David Holmberg were named the organization’s Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for June this afternoon.
Despite pitching well, the Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin has thus far been denied in his bids for team history. The left-hander will try for a sixth time to improve to a franchise-best 10-0 on Tuesday night against the Mets.
Corbin (9-0, 2.22 ERA) hasn't earned a win since June 2 despite posting a 2.55 ERA in his last five outings. He has also allowed two runs or fewer in...
The Braves' bats are springing to life, and they might continue to do so against a pitcher having trouble figuring out what's wrong. Atlanta will try to extend Trevor Cahill's woes and complete a three-game sweep of a fellow division leader in Sunday's matchup with the visiting Diamondbacks.
Through June 5, the Braves topped the NL with 81 homers and were among the...
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero has a rather odd way of choosing which bat to use prior to stepping up to the plate—he taste tests them…
Didn’t work thought as Montero went 0-5 in a 5-4 loss to the Mets. Maybe his bats just needed more salt.

Baseball players are known to be very superstitious and odd creatures. This much is true. But what Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero did to his bat Monday night remains a mystery.Seen here is Montero apparently licking bats in order to find which one suits him best to hit.Interesting tactic, indeed.
During Monday night's Diamondbacks-Mets game at Citi Field, the two clubs had a jersey hanging in their respective dugouts with the name of Yarnell and the number 19 on the back. This was to honor the 19 members of the Yarnell, Ariz. fire department who died while fighting a wildfire Sunday night.
The jerseys were shown on the stadium's video board during a moment of silence...
Wade Miley is the last starter to win a game for the Arizona Diamondbacks, but that came nearly four weeks ago.
The offense isn't providing much help.
Miley may need to overcome the Diamondbacks' sluggish bats if he's going to help them win for just the second time in 10 tries on the road Monday night against the New York Mets.
Miley (4-7, 4.55 ERA) allowed three runs...
Andrew Brown hit a two-run single with two outs in the 13th inning and the New York Mets put together a pair of late rallies to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Monday night, handing the NL West leaders their fourth straight loss.

In a tribute to the 19 Yarnell Firefighters that died in Prescott, Arizona, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Mets wore these special uniforms. It may not be much, but it is still a classy gesture for those that lost their lives.
