Minnesota Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe showed some great agility and quick thinking as he made it back to the bag while eluding being tagged after sliding past second base on a double during Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
It happened in the top of the seventh inning as Plouffe lined a double to the left field corner. The throw into second base was not in time, but Plouffe slid past the bag. Blue Jays second baseman Adeiny Hechavarria jumped on top of the bag and reached his glove out to tag Plouffe's left hand, but Plouffe pulled it away and prepared to make his move back to the bag. As Plouffe moved back towards the bag, Hechavarria went to tag Plouffe's right hand, but Plouffe avoided the tag while getting his left hand on the base.
Plouffe came around to score later in the inning, but the Blue Jays won the game 4-3.
