The Minnesota Twins (65-90) beat the New York Yankees (89-65) 5-4, last night at Target Field from Minneapolis, MN. W - Casey Fein (2-1), L - Phil Hughes (16-13), S - Glen Perkins (15) Game Stats: Phil Hughes imploded in the 7th inning giving up three runs in which gave the Twins a win. He pitched 6.2 innings, allowed 6 hits, 4 runs, walked 1 and struck out 4 batters. Nick Swisher hit a two-run HR (24) in the 4th inning. Russell Martin hit a solo HR (19). Andruw Jones hit a solo HR (14) as well. Robinson Cano had three hits. Phil Hughes was pitching so well until the 7th inning, where he just lost and gave up three runs to the lowly Twins costing the Yankees a ballgame. After that, Joe Girardi pulled Phil Hughes from the game and brought in Boone Logan who gave the game sealing RBI single to Joe Mauer. Although, the Yankees remain 1.5 games up on the Orioles in the AL East division.
