Take a close look at the .GIF from Friday night’s game between the Twins and White Sox. You may notice a very odd situation happening as Chris Colabello’s home run entered the Twins’ bullpen area, and that would be what looks to be Jared Burton delivering a knockout punch to Brian Duensing. The sleuths over at the Pioneer Press were able to do some digging and found out that the pretend punch had been a prank a year in the making.
The original idea came from former Twins reliever Matt Maloney. The Twins relievers tried it once last year in Seattle in late August, then again in May at Boston.
Friday afternoon, however, Burton and Duensing nailed it. Maloney, back in Double-A in the Red Sox organization, would have been proud.
There are the sort of gems which make the Internet worth while.

He proved himself wrong Monday.
The Twins left-hander tossed a two-hit shutout against the Cleveland Indians, going the distance in Minnesota's 3-0 win. After pitching 8 13 scoreless innings in his first big league start last Tuesday, Albers outdid himself one start...

MINNEAPOLIS -- Twins first baseman Justin Morneau knows it's out of his control whether or not he gets traded. That was his approach leading up to the July 31 non-waiver deadline, and he's taking things the same way as the Aug. 31 waiver deadline approaches.
On Tuesday, however, baseball analyst Peter Gammons reportedthat Morneau was placed on waivers. Earlier this month...

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The last memory of second baseman Jamey Carroll for most Royals fans was of him mopping up in the eighth inning of the Twins' 13-0 loss last week to the Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

If you are a Minnesota blogger who writes about hockey, it's assumed that at some point, you will enrage the city of Edmonton. It's not one of those "this is something that might happen, so watch out" things, it's essetially an assumed eventuality. Destiny. I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe Edmontonians are fed up with their battle with Calgary and decided...
