Pro Sports Daily:
1B/DH Justin Morneau was placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 1 because of
tendinitis in his left wrist, the result of a stabilization surgery performed on Sept. 30. The decision was made after Morneau took about 16 swings in the batting cage on
Saturday. "The thought is it's better to get it right now rather than have it drag on through the
summer and not be as effective or productive as I can be," Morneau said. "(The goal is) to
get it right now and be able to play the rest of the year healthy, instead of battling
through something and not being effective at all."

There weren't many highlights for the Minnesota Twins on their recent road trip, which turned out to be a trip to forget.
The Twins' six-game West Coast swing culminated with a 5-2 loss Sunday to the Seattle Mariners, who took the three-game series from Minnesota after the Twins won the series opener Friday. With Sunday's loss, the Twins finished just 1-5 on the road...
The Minnesota Twins' roster will look a bit different on Monday.
The team announced Saturday that designated hitterfirst baseman Justin Morneau will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sore left wrist. The Twins will also call up infielder Brian Dozier and pitcher Scott Diamond from Triple-A Rochester prior to Monday's game at Target Field against the Los Angeles...
Twins pitcher Liam Hendriks is heading back to the minors.
Minnesota optioned the right-hander to Triple-A Rochester after Sunday's game to make room for Scott Diamond on the 25-man roster. It was announced Saturday that Diamond, a left-hander, would be recalled prior to Monday's game at Target Field.
Hendriks started the year on the Twins' Opening Day roster and was...
It’s prospect season again. I’ve had my rankings listed on team pages, but have been horrible about keeping those up to date. As I mentioned on the pages, I’m looking at other rankings when I make mine (along with scouting reports and my own opinion). The Twins are up.
For the top 20, I’ve listed them according to my ranking. I’ve also listed the rankings of other sites...
MINNEAPOLIS Twins shortstop Brian Dozier played well enough in spring training to perhaps warrant a shot at the majors out of camp. Still, he said before spring was over that he expected to start the year in the minor leagues.
That's exactly how it played out. But when Dozier was assigned to Triple-A Rochester to start the season, he used that as motivation instead of getting...
Minnesota Twins slugger Josh Willingham was scratched from the lineup on Monday night because of an illness.
Manager Ron Gardenhire said Willingham likely would be available later in the game if needed to pinch hit, but he wanted to give his outfielder a chance to recover. Willingham leads the Twins with five home runs.
Second baseman Alexi Casilla also missed the game with a sore...
Believe it or not, the 1991 World Series champion Minnesota Twins got off to a slow start, too.
Not quite of the magnitude that the 2012 Twins have gotten off to Minnesota is now 7-20 after losing Sunday to the Seattle Mariners. But despite the end result in 1991, those Twins were also slow out of the gates.
And similarly to this year's Twins, the '91 squad was coming...
SEATTLE (AP) The slumping Minnesota Twins are calling up prized infield prospect Brian Dozier and left-hander Scott Diamond from the minors.
The team announced Sunday that the roster moves will be made on Monday. Dozier will take the spot of slugger Justin Morneau, who will placed on the disabled list with a sore right wrist. Minnesota will make a corresponding move Monday to clear...
Angels at Twins - Scott Diamond has been called up to face Haren. Good luck with that as Diamond is nothing spectular, but more of a filler. The trend is 81% of the betting public is taking the Angels money line.
TV's Take: Angels -175/ Bet $350 for an easy $200.
Braves at Cubs - I love Dempster in this game. He has been solid all year despite getting the lowest run production...
If Albert Pujols can continue emerging from his slump, the Los Angeles Angels might have a good chance for their longest win streak of the season.
The Angels will seek that fourth consecutive victory Tuesday night against the major league-worst Minnesota Twins.
Pujols hit his first home run since signing a 10-year, 240 million deal with Los Angeles (13-17) on Sunday, and the end...

It's a familiar site for the Twins.
Span is on first with one out and up to the plate is Twins' number three hitter Joe Mauer. The first pitch is a cheese ball right down the middle of the plate. Mauer aptly takes the pitch and proceeds to lightly brush the dirt around in the batters box. He's behind in the count right away at 0-1, no big deal. The next pitch...
