Minnesota Twins right-handed pitcher Liam Hendriks has been scratched from his scheduled start Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles with food poisoning.Hendriks was admitted to a Baltimore-area hospital on Saturday morning and is being held for observation, according to manager Ron Gardenhire. Long reliever Anthony Swarzak will start in Hendriks' place.

The Minnesota Twins have seen the good Francisco Liriano, and they've also seen the not-so-good Francisco Liriano. Both sides of the Twins' left-hander made appearances in Saturday's 8-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, but the good Liriano's appearance was nothing but a brief cameo.
After a down year in 2011, Liriano had perhaps the most encouraging spring training...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Ten years ago, approaching a promising 2002 season, the Minnesota Twins nearly had their franchise wiped out.
Then they finished three wins short of the World Series.
"It was one of those 'take that' kinds of things," said manager Ron Gardenhire, reflecting on his first year running the team. "Take that, baseball."
The Orioles picked up their usual Opening Day win yesterday, and are tied for first place in the AL East. Going wire-to-wire is probably going to require a second victory today, so they'll need to make that happen to keep the dream alive.The Twins (2011 stats):
