Right-hander Ugueth Urbina, who was recently released from prison after serving seven years for attempted murder, is hoping to make a
return to Major League Baseball, reports Reyes Urena of El Nacional (translated
by MLB Trade Rumors).
"The objective is to pitch," said Urbina. "When?
My arm will say, and that's why I'm here. I'll work out two times a day if it's
necessary, but my primary goal is to suit up with the Lions. After that, we'll
know if any doors open to me up north (in MLB), which is what I want. I know
that right now my mechanics aren't very good, but my arm is healthy. I only
have to work on the details."
Urbina was released from a Venezuelan prison after serving
seven years of his 14-year sentence for attempting to murder a group of workers
