Found March 07, 2012 on The Dodgerhater:
When your fellow Giants fans ask you, 'Are you excited for the season??!!', your automatic response is 'Yeah! Can't wait!'.Mine is the same. Of course I can't wait. It's the Giants, it's BASEBALL for God's sake. How could one not be excited? I mean, you'd have to be some kind of Communist foreigner not to be excited about the 2012 season. Beyond that initial excitement for Giants baseball and my upcoming fantasy drafts, I feel very uneasy.I feel uneasy about the lineup again. I feel uneasy about management's willingness to do what needs to be done about our lack of offense.I feel uneasy about the Tim Lincecum situation. I feel uneasy about the Matt Cain situation.I just don't know what 2012 will bring, and it's beyond "anything can happen, it's a new year" sort of jitters. For the first time in a few years, I'm not feeling confident. I've always tried to not be a negative fan, but for some reason, I can't s...

SF Giants Rumors: Matt Cain To Sign, Or To Test The Market?

Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com says pitcher Matt Cain and the San Francisco Giants have reached some common ground in recent weeks. Cain will be a free agent after this season, and the Giants are looking to try to extend him prior to the start of this season.   Cain does want to stay in San Francisco, but he’s not looking to give the Giants a hometown discount. Jon Heyman says...

Giants' Cain deserves ground-breaking contract

When Yadier Molina signed his 75 million extension, one rival agent called it a market correction, saying that too sizable a gap existed between the two largest contracts for catchers, Joe Mauer at 184 million and Victor Martinez at 50 million. Well, an even bigger market correction looms for right-handed starting pitchers, and the San Francisco Giants Matt Cain could be the one...

The two sides have “reached greater common ground in recent weeks.” If the Giants and Cain fail to come to an...

Cain can be among highest-paid pitchers

When Yadier Molina signed his $75 million extension, one rival agent called it a market correction, saying that too sizable a gap existed between the two largest contracts for catchers, Joe Mauer at $184 million and Victor Martinez at $50 million. Well, an even bigger market correction looms for right-handed starting pitchers, and the San Francisco Giants' Matt Cain could be...

With a Grain of Salt: Reacting to Spring Training, Part 1

On Monday I got to watch my first Spring Training game, between the Giants and the Brewers. I only caught the game partway through, and then stopped to watch a movie about someone pretending to be Shakespeare, or pretending not to be Shakespeare, or something. There was an earl, who was secretly the son of another guy, who may or may not have secretly been the son of someone else...

Brewers 7, Giants 3

San Francisco pitcher Matt Cain looked sharp in his Cactus League debut, but it was the Milwaukee Brewers who came away with a win 7-3 tonight at Scottsdale Stadium. [box score] Cain pitched two solid innings, allowing just two hits and a walk. He tossed 32 pitches. Pinch hitter Zelous Wheeler blasted a three-run homer off Jeremy Affeldt and former Giant Travis Ishikawa added a solo...

SF Giants Rumors: Welcome Back Posey/Sanchez, Bumgarner Signs, Cain Negotiations

Today is the day that most San Francisco Giants fans have been waiting for. It’s the day that catcher Buster Posey straps the gear on and is back in the starting lineup. Posey will be in the cleanup spot for today’s game. Freddy Sanchez is also back in the lineup, but only as a DH. He’s still not ready to play the field at this time. Sanchez is in the second spot in the Giants...

Territorial Whining

This week’s squabbling between the A’s and Giants just led to one realization: I’m tired of this crap.  Just make a decision.  I don’t even care anymore. This is just getting ridiculous.  The Giants are touchy about their finances for the future, which has to be killing signing Matt Cain longterm.  The A’s are in a holding pattern for life, especially for what fans...

Giants rally to defeat Rockies 8-6

Jamie Moyer pitched two innings of scoreless ball in his first outing in 18 months and the Colorado Rockies tagged Tim Lincecum for five runs before the San Francisco Giants rallied for an 8-6 victory Wednesday. The 49-year-old Moyer last pitched July 20, 2010, when he was with Philadelphia. Soon after, he had Tommy John surgery. He struck out one and gave up one hit for the Rockies...
