The Atlanta Braves got big nights from Julio Teheran and both Upton brothers as they beat the Miami Marlins in game two of the series. The Braves pounded out 11 hits while defeating the Marlins 6-4 on Tuesday. With Monday night’s 14 inning game, the Braves really needed Julio Teheran to go deep into Tuesday’s start. Teheran did exactly that, with a great start in Miami. He pitched 7.1 innings and only gave up one earned run. Teheran’s great start allowed the Braves to only use Jordan Walden, and Craig Kimbrel out of the bullpen. The Braves got out to an early lead on the Marlins. B.J Upton was able to hit a sacrifice fly to right field for the second out in the second inning. Freddie Freeman was on third base and was able to tag up and score on the Upton fly ball. The Marlins answered in their portion of the second inning. The Marlins inning was kept alive when Chris Johnson, the Braves third baseman, made a fielding error. The inning should have been over, but Rob Brantley,...

After the final out, Justin Upton made a beeline for his brother in the Atlanta Braves outfield, and they shared a happy hand slap. Both were key contributors in a victory, which hasn't happened often this year.
Justin Upton homered, doubled twice and scored three runs, while B.J. had two hits, drove in a run and scored to help beat the Miami Marlins 6-4 Tuesday night.
It took the Atlanta Braves 14 innings to get the bats going on Monday night against the Miami Marlins. They needed five extra innings, but the Braves were able to claim a 7-1 victory in game one of the series. Both starting pitchers looked sharp on the mound. Kevin Slowey, the Marlins starter, pitched five innings without giving up a run. Mike Minor had his stuff working for...
Photo galleries for games are located way out in the boondocks of ESPN.com, which is maybe why not too many people caught this little snafu from the Marlins-Braves game. (Additionally, it was Justin Upton and not B.J., the trouble of having the Upton brothers on the same roster.) I'm not sure whether that's ESPN's caption or the AP's caption, but either way it...
On Tuesday Brandon Beachy made his first rehab start since being sidelines with elbow inflammation last month.
Beachy, 25, pitched three innings for Triple-A Gwinnett allowing two runs. The Braves pitcher allowed three hits and a walk and stuck out one. Overall he threw 29 of 45 pitches for strikes.
The Braves will likely ask Beachy to make two or more additional starts before they...
Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the upcoming All-Star Game over the weekend and only one Atlanta Braves player earned a selection. However, Braves first basemen Freddie Freeman still has a chance to become the second Atlanta player to be named an All-Star through the "Final Vote" process. But he will have to beat out emerging Los Angeles Dodgers superstar...
Justin Upton homered, doubled twice and scored three runs to help the Atlanta Braves earn their 27th comeback victory when they beat the Miami Marlins 6-4 Tuesday night.
The Braves overcame deficits of 3-1 and 4-3. They lead the NL in come-from-behind wins.
Pitchers for the two teams combined to retire 30 consecutive batters Monday, when Atlanta won 7-1 in 14 innings. The second...
ATLANTA -- Before delving into the most heated topic concerning the Braves organization, it's important to mention that Freddie Freeman, the team's best hitter in 2013, is leading the Final Vote (as of a few hours ago), which could significant undercut the entire "snub" debate.
If Freeman were to beat out the likes of Dodgers' standouts Yasiel Puig and Adrian...
The Atlanta Braves’ bullpen took another hit yesterday, as
right-handed reliever Cristhian Martinez underwent season-ending surgery on his
ailing shoulder, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com.
Martinez has been battling shoulder issues nearly the entire
season, as he only made two appearances for Atlanta prior to hitting the
disabled list. It appeared he would rejoin...
We've tried really hard not to wade into this, but it touches on a few of our favorite topics.
(1) The Atlanta Braves
If you are a baseball fan, you know the all-star game is next week. And the last component to the two teams roster is a staged popularity contest known as the "Fan" vote.
And what this story is about is how polarizing it's become...

Justin Upton broke a tie by driving in two runs when he doubled in a six-run 14th inning for Atlanta's first hit since the sixth, and the Braves beat the Miami Marlins 7-1 Monday night.
Five Miami relievers combined to retire 24 consecutive batters before Reed Johnson walked to start the 14th against Chris Hatcher (0-1). Jason Heyward walked with one out, and Upton's double...
The cries for the return of El Oso Blanco are being heard loud and clear right now, but Atlanta Braves fans will probably have to wait until after the All-Star break for the return of Evan Gattis. Having hit 14 homers in just 53 games and 163 at-bats, it's no wonder the Tomahawk Nation is anxious to get him back.
Gattis, who is recovering from a strained oblique muscle, did return to baseball
No matter what happens in their final series of the first half, the Atlanta Braves will head into the All-Star break atop the NL East.
That lead could have been bigger had they done a better job supporting Tim Hudson.
The right-hander tries to build on his first victory in two months Thursday night in the first of four against the visiting Cincinnati Reds.
Although Braves starters...
Freddie Freeman is putting together quite the campaign for the NL All-Star team’s Final Vote. The Atlanta Braves first baseman was leading the voting as of Wednesday morning, and his prospects got even stronger when an unexpected celebrity endorsed him on Wednesday afternoon. No, we’re not talking about Lil Jon. The Atlanta-born rapper did tweet [...]
The Atlanta Braves went seven straight innings without a hit before scoring six runs in the top of the 14th inning to down the Miami Marlins on Monday, 7-1. Miami scored first on a RBI single from Justin Ruggiano, but Atlanta answered a half inning later with a Jason Heyward triple and a RBI sacrifice [...]
