Javier Vazquez pitched like we should have seen him pitch all of this season, great.
Vazquez lasted seven innings, and with three relievers behind him, the Marlins defeated the Mets 6-0. Vazquez surrendered three hits and struck out six Mets batters for his eighth win of the season.
Edward Mujica, Mike Dunn and Leo Nunez all combined for the shut down after Vazquez left the ball game.
The Marlins scored five runs in the seventh behind Logan Morrison’s two-run single off of Mike Pelfrey.
