(Photo by David Saltzer - AngelsWin.com Senior Writer) ANAHEIM, CA – The Angels Tuesday traded outfielder Vernon Wells to the New York Yankees in exchange for outfielder Exicardo Cayones, LHP Kramer Sneed and cash considerations. Today’s transaction was announced by General Manager Jerry Dipoto. Cayones, 21, spent the 2012 season playing for New York’s Single-A Staten Island Yankees. The outfielder posted a .228 (36/158) clip last season, logged 15 RBI and made just one error in 47 games for the short season Yankees. Originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Pirates in 2008, Cayones was acquired by the Yankees as part of the A.J. Burnett trade with Pittsburgh prior to the 2012 campaign. Over four minor league seasons, the Valencia, Venezuela native owns a .261 (164/629) batting average with 99 runs scored and 83 RBI.
