Before Friday night's game against the Indians, the Red Sox made a slew of roster moves that will slightly alter the look of the team over the next couple of weeks. Catcher David Ross was activated from the 7-day disabled list and infielder Jose Iglesias and pitcher Alfredo Aceves were called up from AAA Pawtucket, replacing Ryan Lavarnway (optioned to AAA), Shane Victorino (placed on 15-day DL with left hamstring strain), and Will Middlebrooks (placed on 15-day DL with lower back strain). Ross, who was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list on May 12th, took several foul balls to the head behind the plate on May 11th, and needed some time to recover. After playing one minor league rehab game with AA Portland (1-3, 2B, RBI), he was cleared by Major League Baseball to rejoin the Red Sox.
