Giants closer Brian Wilson — never one to shy away from the camera — has been all over the Twitterverse this past week, espousing his alumni, the top-rated Louisiana State University Tigers (8-0), who will take on the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-0) tonight at 5:00 pm PT (CBS) in one of the most anticipated non-bowl college football games in recent memory.

Wilson went on ESPN’s College Gameday this morning and repped his Tigers good, rocking the LSU colors in full gear (shoulder pads and helmet included) and (naturally) predicting a Tiger win over the Tide.

Wilson has been blowing up Twitter with predictions all week, tweeting things like, “Reason 3.14159 why LSU beats Alabama. Tigers smash 100lbs of meat/nite. Elephants are herbivores(veggie platters),” and “Reason #1 why LSU beats Bama: I’m returning the opening kickoff.

Check out some of the crazy pics posted online this week:

Reason zweimillionste why LSU beats Bama: If Forrest Gump went to LSU the movie would still be winning Oscars

Reason -$14.9 trillion why LSU beats Bama: The game's official sponsor has a mascot that's a tiger.

Reason 3.14159 why LSU beats Alabama. Tigers smash 100lbs of meat/nite. Elephants are herbivores(veggie platters)

Reason ∑ why LSU beats Bama: Tiger Alums = @Shaq Diesel and the Weez. Tide Alumni = "The Ponz" himself Bernie M.

Reason No. 38 --- LSU's newest mascot has gone black ops.

Reason #1 why LSU beats Bama: I'm returning the opening kickoff.

Wilson, fear the camera? Uh, no.

Finally, here’s a video clip of Wilson giving his predictions for the South Carolina-Arkansas game:

San Francisco Giants closer and former LSU pitcher Brian Wilson was the guest picker on this morning’s ESPN College GameDay.

The Giants are willing to trade Jonathan Sanchez

According to Jon Morosi of, the Giants are willing to trade Jonathan Sanchez “in an effort to free up money so they can pursue offensive upgrade.” Sanchez, 28, projects to make around $6MM in arbitration; with Barry Zito under contract through 2013 and Eric Surkamp under team control, Sanchez is somewhat expendable — that is, if the Giants are content with putting...

Giants’ Top Twenty Prospects: Part I…20-11

After a lot of work and deliberation, here are my Giants prospect rankings for 2012. These are based on a number of factors (scouting reports, tools, age relative to league, polish, upside, positional value, etc.), with performance and potential weighted similarly. I decided to arbitrarily go with a top-20, and I’ll break it up into two parts. Chances are I’ll post some honorable...

2011 Season in Review: Nate Schierholtz

One of the only bright spots of this year’s offense was Nate Schierholtz, who had somewhat of a breakout. It wasn’t a spectacular season, but he managed to post a pretty respectable .278/.326/.430 before his season was cut short due to injuries. Around late June, Schierholtz altered his batting stance, and shortly thereafter, he got red-hot: from June 25 to July 10, he hit .421...
