Baltimore Orioles utility man Chris Davis hit three home runs against the Blue Jays on Friday night, just one home run of becoming the 17th player in Major League History to hit four homers in one game.
Davis, a five-year veteran with 67 career home runs, nearly joined Texas Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton in the four home run club. Hamilton accomplished the feat earlier this season against the Orioles at Oriole Park.
“I was definitely thinking about the home run,” Davis said regarding his third at-bat “He gave me a good pitch to hit on the first pitch and I fouled it off. He was tough after that, but the biggest thing is we get the win and I enjoyed a pretty good night.”
