Joey Votto It’s no doubt when thinking of the top players on the Cincinnati Reds squad, names such as Joey Votto or Brandon Phillips begin to spark in every mind. People look for these key players, on every team, to step up a notch, choke up on the bat (literally) and hit in a couple runs. But fans in ballparks away from the  Great American Ballpark are seeing a different Votto...

Reds slip two spots in latest batch of power rankings

The last week hasn't been so good for Dusty Baker and the Reds and that is reflected in the latest batch of MLB Power Rankings unveiled by ESPN.com on Monday. Cincinnati fell two spots to number five in this edition after posting a 2-4 record at home against the likes of the Rockies and Cardinals. Sunday's, 11-4, loss was extra painful as the bullpen melted down in extra...

Reds limp into Chicago looking to regroup

CINCINNATI Late night flights arent fun. Theyre less enjoyable when theyve been pushed back because you had to work later than normal. When you have to get on that flight following an 11-4 loss to your division rival, well, you get the picture. The Reds chartered to Chicago early Monday after closing out their three-game series with St. Louis on the wrong end of a seven-run Cardinals...

Lance Lynn's start to 2013 is practically an exact copy of his start from a year ago. He'd like to avoid repeating what followed last season's impressive start. Lynn attempts to gain a share of the major league lead in wins by beating the Cincinnati Reds for a third time this year in the finale of this three-game set Sunday night. Lynn (8-1, 2.76 ERA) went 8-1 with a...
