Let's face it, folks. There wasn't much to cheer about from a Reds perspective during Friday night's 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Texas Rangers.
However, this catch made by Jay Bruce to end the bottom of the first inning sure was a dandy.
Watch as the Gold Glove outfielder ranges a long way to his left to make a sensational leaping catch at the wall. As you can see, that ball was about two more feet to the left from being a potential home run.
Nice play by Bruce.

The right-hander was pulled from the game after grimacing in pain on his final pitch attempt with no outs in the bottom of the second inning. Manager Dusty Baker quickly rushed to the mound and replaced Cueto with southpaw...

On Saturday, the Reds needed a victory in the worst way possible against the Texas Rangers, after having gone all week without ending up on the smiling side of the scoreboard.
Well, thanks to a clutch home run by catcher Devin Mesoraco in extra innings, Cincinnati finally recorded an elusive win, 6-4, over the Rangers. However, the big...

Right-hander Mark Prior has been released from the Cincinnati Reds organization, ending his latest comeback attempt.
Prior went to spring training on a minor league contract. He had a 4.66 ERA in seven relief appearances for Triple-A Louisville, but last pitched April 21 because of a right shoulder strain.
The 32-year-old Prior last pitched in the majors in 2006, a year before...

Rebounding from a rough stretch, Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman sealed a 6-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday in Arlington. An utterly dominant hurler, the 25-year-old Chapman (3-3, 2.65 ERA) now has 20 saves this season. Gunning the fastest recorded pitch in MLB history at 105.1 mph, the 6-foot-4, 200 pound Chapman remains one of the most intimidating men on the...
Daniel Corcino has been making adjustments all year but hasn't found the consistency yet in 2013.
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Dusty Baker was feeling nostalgic when the Cincinnati Reds arrived at Rangers Ballpark.
Baker remembered being part of major league baseball's first regular-season interleague game, managing San Francisco to a 4-3 win at Texas on June 12, 1997. The Reds manager also had thoughts of the late Johnny Oates, his former teammate and former Rangers manager...
Cincinnati starting pitcher Johnny Cueto has left the Reds' series opener at Texas after only 29 pitches.

It wasn't immediately clear why Cueto came out, but television replays showed him...

A 21-start regular season undefeated streak for Latos...

Devin Mesoraco's two-run homer in the 11th inning gave the Reds a 6-4 victory over the AL West-leading Texas Rangers.

The Reds interleague road woes continued with a loss at Texas. They might have lost something even worse if Johnny Cueto’s newest lat stiffness takes him out of action again.
