As you can see, this girl came prepared and promptly snagged the ball all by her self. Then, she turned around and gave the souvenir to the person who took her to the game, her friend, whose birthday just so happens to be getting close. She was awarded the "fan of the game" award by the broadcast team and deservedly so. However, she should also receive some sort of award for being an Astros fan, because it has to be brutal rooting for the franchise lately.Via

Astros make two pitching changes before throwing a pitch...and umpires allow it (Video)

Another embarrassing fiasco involving major league baseball umpires not knowing basic rules took place Thursday night when the Houston Astros were allowed to make two pitching changes without throwing a pitch. Your browser does not support iframes. In the top of the seventh with two outs, the Astros called to the bullpen to have Wesley Wright replace Paul Clemens, and the Los Angeles...

Houston Astros fan puts hot dog in his pants, pretends to show his junk to camera (Video)

Just when you thought that you had seen it all at a Major League Baseball game, one Houston Astros fan decided to play a rather juvenile pranks during a recent game against the Los Angeles Angels. Keep an eye on the guy in the second row as he decides to place a hot dog in his pants and decides to show off his "fake junk" to the television cameras during an Albert Pujols...

Whatever this Astros fan is doing with a hot dog in his pants, it ain’t right (video)

Thanks to Deadspin, here’s a video of a very immature adult male Houston Astros fan taking advantage of the premium placement of the seats behind home plate by inserting a hot dog (or some other phallic-looking object) through the fly of his pants and waving it as if it were his manhood. Bravo, good sir. [...]The post Whatever this Astros fan is doing with a hot dog in his pants...

Umpires forget relief pitcher substitution rules

It has been a rough week for MLB umpires. First it was Angel Hernandez missing an obvious call via video replay but now Fieldin Culbreth's crew is under intense scrutiny as they completely botched one of the most basic rules in baseball. The incident took place in the seventh inning of Houston's game against the Angels. Astros manager brought in Wesley Wright to face lefty...

Mike Scioscia correctly protests Houston Astros’ pitching change; Umpires were wrong

Your browser does not support iframes. An MLB spokesman said on Friday that the umpires made a mistake by allowing the Houston Astros to make a pitching change in the seventh inning of Thursday’s Angels-Astros game, a move that was protested by Mike Scioscia. The Astros were up 5-3 in the top of the seventh. Paul Clemens had just walked Chris Ianetta to put runners on first and...

Umps Boof Pitching Change In Astros-Angels Game

((HT: CSN Houston/MLB)) If things couldn't get any worse for the pee-ahr of umpires these days, we now have this... In the Angels-Astros game, manager Bo Porter wanted the pitcher who came in to the game, Wesley Wright, to stop throwing warm up pitches after he entered the game. Porter wanted to bring in Hector Ambriz when the Angels switched pinch-hitters in the on-deck...

Angels protest game, beat Astros 6-5 anyway

HOUSTON (AP) -- Mark Trumbo hit a two-run double in the eighth inning before Alberto Callaspo's go-ahead sacrifice fly sent the Angels to a 6-5 victory over the Houston Astros in a long game that Los Angeles played under protest Thursday night. The struggling Angels snapped a four-game skid and avoided an embarrassing sweep against last-place Houston, which has a payroll that...

Ugly win is still a win in Houston

Tonight’s win might have been the ugliest of the season so far.  It was far far closer than it should have been. I’ll be up front and confess that I slept through the first four innings.  I never take naps, but apparently my body needed one this afternoon.  When I woke up a little after seven, the game was already in the 5th inning.  And tied at one run each, courtesy of...

Rangers-Astros Preview

The Texas Rangers have owned the Houston Astros lately. The AL West leaders, though, aren't about to overlook their new divisional foes. Texas continues its four-city road trip Friday night with Alexi Ogando pitching opposite Dallas Keuchel, who makes his first start of the season for the Astros. By taking two of three in Houston from March 31-April 3 - Ogando (3-2, 3.08 ERA...
