Angel Villanova is back with the Giants. Read this article on it, on Yahoo. One minor quibble, only quibble since it was never verified, but the Giants reportedly only outbid the Yankees, Mets, and Red Sox. One rumor was that the Mariners actually outbid the Giants by a lot, I believe the figure was $3.0M vs. the Giants $2.1M, which is probably why Villalona's agent, Scott Boras (yes, that agent) promptly announce that he was going to sue the Giants for not including him in the negotiations, whereupon the Giants stated that Villalona had the proper representatives for the Giants to execute a legally signed contract, so if Boras has a problem with how it went down, he should speak to Villalona. Since I heard nothing about it afterward, Boras probably licked his wounds with a big chunk of the $2.1M. (at, say, 10%, that's $210K vs. $300K, at 15%, $315K vs. $450K, the difference of which is probably pocket change in the big scheme of things for Boras).Reportedly, the Giants s...

San Francisco Giants ace Tim Lincecum is being sued by a former landlord for causing damage to a rental property.
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in San Francisco Superior Court, alleges that Lincecum stole and destroyed $200,000 worth of items at a furnished San Francisco apartment after illegally returning to the unit after his lease expired.
The landlord, Mindy Freile, is seeking...
The Dugout: Who Can Make Me Vomit First, Taco Bell Or Brian Wilson
Taco Bell has decided to follow up last year’s 2010 MLB postseason Mariano Rivera “closer” spots with San Francisco Giants reliever and self-proclaimed funniest man to ever live Brian Wilson. The results are about what you’d expect. Personal opinion of Wilson’s humor aside, you’d think they’d want someone who was actually in the playoffs...
Giants Could Bump Payroll for Big Name
The Giants don't seem like "big spenders," per se. This is really more because they have homegrown pitching and don't have any offense than it is because they don't spend.
Just ask Aaron Rowand, Barry Zito and Aubrey Huff, all of whom are paid exorbitant amounts of money for little production. Last year, in fact, payroll jumped 25 percent -- but according to...
Larry Baer's Letter to Giants Fans
The 2011 offseason figures to be an interesting one for the Giants.
With changes in management and a disappointing follow-up to the 2010 World Series win, San Francisco baseball fans will eagerly anticipate some offensive additions.
So it's good news, I think, that Giants CEO Larry Baer sent a letter to season-ticket holders emphasizing the team's plans to compete next year...
Lawsuit Alleges Lincecum 'Defaced' Apartment
A lawsuit filed Wednesday in San Francisco Superior Court alleges that Giants star pitcher Tim Lincecum trashed his old apartment. (Before we continue: alleges is, as always, a critical word here.)
Mindy Freile, the landlord at 141 Hampshire Street, filed a lawsuit against Lincecum, alleging that he stole and destroyed $200,000 worth of household items from his old apartment in San...

Landlord sues Tim Lincecum for $350K worth of damages
This doesn't sound like the fun-loving Tim Lincecum we've all come to know and love.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, the San Francisco Giants star pitcher is being sued by a landlord in the city's Mission neighborhood after allegedly leaving the place less than clean.
From the Mercury News:
In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in San Francisco Superior Court, landlord...
Video: SF Giants Closer Brian Wilson Says the ’86 Celtics Are The Best in NBA History
San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson was previously only a small part of the NBA 2K12 advertisement that features a variety of people—including Michael Jordan, Mark Cuban and Drake, among others—arguing who the best NBA team of all-time is. But now Wilson gets his own spot, in which he describes in detail why the 1986 Boston Celtics are undoubtedly history’s greatest...
