Joey Votto was in the lineup Monday, but for Triple-A Louisville, not the Cincinnati Reds.

Since the Triple-A season ended Monday, Votto will be with the Reds on Tuesday. But manager Dusty Baker would not say if Votto will be in the lineup.

"It's not only me, it's up to him, how he feels," Baker said before Monday's 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. "It's also up to the weather that allows him to play. He already missed one game because of the weather, and who knows, he might miss another game today because of the weather. This is the one thing we can't do anything about.

"Joey will be here. He'll be here soon. We just can't say when."

Monday's game was the 38th the Reds have played without Votto.

"We don't want a (Lance) Berkman situation like in St. Louis, where he goes back on the DL or something happens," Baker said. "We want him right, and we have a bit of a luxury the way guys are playing now where we don't have to rush him back."

Votto went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a lineout Monday at Louisville.

He has not played since July 15. He had surgery on his left knee July 17 and had another procedure on Aug. 10 to remove a small piece cartilage.
